William F. Knee
Raised in Naperville, Illinois, Bill attended District 203 schools and Benet Academy in Lisle, Illinois. From a family of avid skiers, the lure of the mountains and a ski trip with Dad brought Bill to the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he graduated with a degree in Political Science in 1991. Bill got his law degree in 1995 from Northern Illinois University College of Law.
During school, he worked in the law library for a professor, and had a research internship at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C.
In 1995, upon graduation, Bill started his first law firm. He started with exactly zero clients. Eleven years, one wife and three kids later, he had a successful broad-based family, business and civil litigation practice with hundreds of clients.
In 2007, Bill joined the well-respected Naperville law firm of Keough & Moody, P.C. There he learned a lot about the practice of law, particularly community association law. He sharpened his client counseling and court room trial skills, making some lifelong friends in the process.
Bill is a member of various bar associations, committees and of the Federal Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois. He’s been the chair of the DuPage County Bar Legal Aid Committee and has been the recipient of the DuPage County Bar Pro Bono Service Award.
He’s been a frequent speaker at law seminars on corporate Board of Directors issues, including corporate governance, fiduciary duties and ethics.
Bill is excited to be working closer to home, serving his local community and looks forward to becoming more involved in Mount Prospect. He loves coaching kids’ sports, spending time with family and neighbors, golfing, vegetable gardening and reading.
Bill is married to Susan Knee for nearly 15 years and has three great kids and an old but lovable Black Lab, Annie.
